Job Summary:
The Social Services Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating social work and human service programs within the organization. They will develop, implement, and evaluate social service initiatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support to individuals and communities in need. The Social Services Manager will also lead a team of social workers and support staff, providing guidance and supervision to ensure effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement social work and human service programs in accordance with organizational goals and objectives.
2. Oversee the day-to-day operations of social service programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
3. Provide leadership and guidance to a team of social workers and support staff, promoting a positive work environment and professional development.
4. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assess community needs and identify areas for program development and improvement.
5. Conduct regular evaluations and assessments of social service programs to monitor effectiveness, identify challenges, and propose solutions.
6. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, progress, and interventions in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
7. Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, agencies, and resources to enhance service delivery and maximize client support.
8. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and relevant legislation related to social work and human services.
9. Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
10. Collaborate with other departments within the organization to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to client care.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven experience in a leadership or management role within social work or human services.
3. In-depth knowledge of social work principles, practices, and ethics.
4. Strong understanding of community resources, services, and support systems.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse individuals and groups.
6. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
7. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
8. Proficient in using computer applications and software relevant to the field of social work and human services.
9. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
10. Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and policies governing social work and human services.
